LABOUR create artistic works based on sound. They operate in the field of tension between acoustic composition, performance, spatial installation, and active listening practices. Their work explores common perceptions of space and sound, and how these perceptions shape the construction of reality. The duo regularly appears at institutions and art festivals around the world. Together with the Atonal Festival, they curated the X100 Festival in honor of Iannis Xenakis.
For this edition of Listen!, they present a piece created in collaboration with the students of the FHNW degree program Society in Transformation. Agnes Leclaire is an experimental sound artist and researcher from Basel who weaves elements of Indonesian gamelan and Javanese ritual rhythms into dreamlike soundscapes.
