KaBar/ZischBar

Menschenleere Bar in warmem Licht

Mittagstisch

Due to renovation work at the Kaserne, our lunch service is on pause for the time being. The lunch service hasn’t gone away—it’s just taking a break. We’ll be back as soon as it’s possible again. And we’re already really looking forward to it.

The KaBar remains open—with adjusted hours, snacks, our city-famous paninis, aperitifs, and long evenings on the spacious terraces and at the bar.

Snacks

If you want a quick snack, visit the Snack-Attack Corner for a warm panino or grab a plate of various antipasti. Our paninis are made with salami, Parma-ham, tuna or aubergine, and served with crunchy rocket, cold-pressed olive oil, strips of pepperoni and dried tomatoes. Why not round off your snack with one of our homemade cakes or desserts?

Evening Bar

The KaBar is a welcoming and vibrant place offering a wide selection of beers, wines and spirits. Revellers, individualists, tourists, artists and scene mainstays, as well as business people all meet up at our bar. Enjoy an aperitif in a relaxing atmosphere; the ideal location to wind down after a busy day. We also take reservations and prepare food for company events, welcome and farewell parties, birthdays or any other festivities.

Drinks Menu

ZischBar

LGBTQIA+ Bar – since the 1980s at Kaserne Basel. Always on Tuesdays, 18:00–01:00

Every Tuesday, the KaBar transforms into the popular queer ZischBar, welcoming everyone to gather, enjoy drinks and unwind together. In the summer, the atmosphere outside on the terrace is unique; in the winter, it is warm and cosy inside! A part of the evening's takings from the ZischBar is donated to the local as-sociation habs queer basel and supports its work helping lesbians, gays, bisexuals, trans people, intersex people, asexuals, pansexuals and non-binaries live a free and self-determined life.
