What's going on?  The canton of Basel-Stadt is renovating!

→ Fire safety
→ Ventilation system

The roof is being renovated, and the attic will feature a new education space, artists’ dressing rooms, and offices, and will be made barrier-free.

The kitchen will get a new cooling storage area, and the Reithalle will finally be equipped with a ventilation system. Inside, the fire-retardant coating will be replaced, and the exterior facade will be renovated.

Duration: Summer 2026 through Summer 2027

We will do our best to make your visit to Kaserne Basel as comfortable as possible.

KaBar will remain open- with adjusted hours, snacks, paninis, aperitifs, and long evenings on the terraces and at the bar. 

The program at the Kaserne Basel kicks off the new season on August 25, 2026 with Theaterfestival Basel.
