Abdullah Miniawy is an Egyptian composer, writer and singer — a well-known international artist from Fayoum living in Paris, whose album Le Cri Du Caire won the 2023 French Victoires du Jazz, the equivalent of the Grammys.

He now leads a musical trio alongside two Paris-based French trombonists: Jules Boittin, a seasoned professional performing with various French ensembles, and Jules Regard, who brings his own distinctive voice to the group. Together, the trio draws on jazz elements and Egyptian soundscapes to craft a truly singular musical world.

The trio seeks to engage audiences with a transcendent experience, combining inspiration, cleansing, and occasional Sufism, infused with a jazzy, metaphorical, and global flavour — echoing the loudness of an Egyptian traffic jam. The project premiered at the Musée Dauphinois during the Détours de Babel Festival in Grenoble, where it was received with a standing ovation and tears — a trademark of Miniawy's work, in which many find refuge.

Since then, the trio has embarked on an international tour of 20 concerts, with a record set to be released at the MAO Oriental Art Museum in Turin, Italy. Performances have included La Alhambra in Geneva, the Venice International Festival during the Venice Biennale, Tunisia, Jao Photo, and more — alongside guest artist Erik Truffaz.

The project bridges Western and Eastern musical traditions, drawing on Miniawy's latest compositions, which weave together Baroque and operatic fusion with Coptic Christian and Gulf themes. It opens a global conversation on current political matters and the spirit of human unity. The repertoire includes compositions from the Arab Spring, previous Miniawy projects, and Le Cri Du Caire, with the show translated into English, Italian, and French, available as PDFs and voice-over in theatre rooms.
