Megaphones Workshop // 07.02.&18.04.26
Exercises in Fallow Land - collective singing with megaphones
Sat 07.02.26 // 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Sat 18.04.26 // 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Rahel Kraft and Sylvi Kretzschmar share their feminist practice at the intersections of spoken word, live art and music with megaphones in public spaces. With their nomadic choir ‘RIOTOUS’, they invite FLINTA* people to sing together, make sounds and raise their voices about our constant busyness and functioning, about time justice and the longing for regeneration and time out. The workshop aims at transformation through vocal experiments, listening exercises, and breath and body work with the megaphone. ‘The Art of Lying Fallow’ facilitates an exchange about upheavals and breakdowns, about supposed gaps in one's CV, about exhaustion, new beginnings and rebellion.

Behind the scenes at Kaserne Basel, employees from a wide range of professions work all day and often also at night to offer artists the best possible performance and audiences a unique live experience. What does the day-to-day running of an event look like outside of the performances? How is the theater, dance and music program created? What technology is hidden behind the historic walls of the Kaserne? How has the Kaserne Basel developed over the last four decades? During a guided tour of the premises, you will get to know the Kaserne Basel and the site, including the newly opened kHaus, from a new perspective. We offer:
- Guided tours for different groups (e.g. school classes, university, companies, etc.)
- Guided tours with different focal points (e.g. technology, theater/dance, music, professions, architecture, etc.)
- Guided tours available in German, English or French
- Combination options (e.g. with a visit to a theater or concert, aperitif)
