Welcome to the Fallopian, a dim little dive. The bar your mother warned you about. Miranda and Verena, two ovaries, have been regulars at the bar for decades, but tonight the bar is closing forever and only one egg remains in the jar. Why are all the drinks suddenly non-alcoholic? What? No more hormones? Is this menopause? These two ovaries still have big plans. Their bartender is ready to help in any way, but the best laid plans keep getting spoiled by decreasing hormones and even singing sperm. What to do? They grapple with what they’ve made, what they’ve lost, and whether the last round is worth pouring at all. Bold, vulgar, tender, and quietly furious, this first public try out of the original short play is about the body that holds you and the friend who stays past closing.

How does a woman deal with lowering hormone levels? How to cope with no longer being able to (re)produce? What happens in women’s bodies during the menopause transition? Touching on female libido, friendship, ageing and the reality of fitting into consumer society when a woman doesn’t reproduce, The Last Egg asks these questions and will surely lead to discussions that continue after the bar is wiped clean.
