Few Basel artists move as playfully between genres as Steven Schoch. As a secret agent of art, Steven operates in the gray area between performance, visual arts, Kasko, university, and special effects. So it's no surprise that he's now setting his sights on James Bond, together with rap artist svmthoX, aka Néisha da Silva, and pianist and composer Pio Schürmann. BAM!
On the effects-laden stage, the three explore identity, relationships, morality, values, and changeability, asking: What is wrong with the world—and with us? How does real change come about? Again and again, they kill each other, only to move forward together afterwards. Quantum physics, neuroscience, philosophy, and social criticism are interwoven with singing, rap, and verbal sparring.

Biografie
Steven Schoch is a visual and performance artist, actor, choreographer, dancer, and singer based in Basel, Switzerland. He holds a BA in Fine Arts and an MA in Expanded Theater. His work typically moves between performance, theater, video, and installation, and is characterized by interdisciplinary approaches and a strong engagement with the audience. It explores the contradictions, confusion, and constant negotiation that define our everyday existence. He is particularly interested in states of ambivalence. Power structures, identity dispositifs, community, faith, science, and transcendental knowledge are examined for their aesthetic potential through a variety of artistic means.
