The third and final show in the visual-sound-check series by LAB artist Robin Michel continues the previous audiovisual studies. The focus is on the combination of sound and image, which is made playable in a software instrument and presented live in a performance. While the first study concentrated on reduced patterns of waveforms, noise and geometric structures, the second showing focused on the combination of sonic and visual materiality using machine learning. These approaches are taken up again in the third showing, combined and further developed and supplemented for the 20-minute performance. A particular focus will be on controlling audiovisual parameters through physical movement. A camera tracking system is used to interactively influence image and sound processes. Movements in the space control the parameters in real time and enable direct, dynamic control over the audiovisual events. In addition, the previously purely computer-based sound generation is supplemented by a hardware setup that allows extended sound possibilities and improvisational playing styles. The experience gained and the software developed from the studies of the last three showings serve as the basis for future artistic works, installations and audiovisual performances.
