Showing

Over two days, the focus will be on the sound and spatial possibilities of multichannel compositions. On Friday evening, three new works by Eva Sidén, Michael Schumacher, and LAB artist Robin Michel will be presented in a public try-out session. These compositions were created specifically for a multichannel speaker setup and the instrument Form³, developed by Robin Michel. Form³ is a live-electronic controller that is operated through movement and can be used for spatial sound distribution. Two weeks before the presentation, the artists will work together on their compositions to further develop their musical ideas and adapt them to the sonic possibilities of the instrument.

On Saturday, there will be a deeper exploration of spatial sound design. Composer Michael Schumacher, who has many years of experience in multichannel sound art, will share his knowledge on sound movement and room acoustics in a workshop. In addition, Eva Sidén will give insights into her interdisciplinary work at the intersection of music, space, and visuality in an artist talk.

The event includes a presentation of new compositions, a workshop, and an artist talk on multichannel sound design and the possible applications of Form³.
