Workshop/Ritual

Grief is complex, and in our busy lives, we often dont create the quiet, safe, and embodied space to process it. At times, we may not even know why we «feel off»—yet that very sense of unease is a meaningful signal that something within us needs attention. Grief is often seen as something to navigate alone or only with those closest to us. This workshop offers an opportunity to gently lean into vulnerability, softening the protective layers we build around our hearts to shield ourselves from grief and pain. It is also trying to remind us of how grieving and processing emotions can be a social and collective practice, even an event, and doesn’t need to happen solely in isolation.

Through somatic (=related to the body) and embodied exercises, we will create space to explore, feel, and honor our emotions in a supportive environment.

Sharka Rey is invited by LAB Artist Ophelia Young (she/her), who is working on the topics of «the emotional body». She puts her interest towards how our body is offering physical, social and political information and how one can use these understandings as creative and artistic material–and as tools for contributing to social change.

This workshop is for anyone (16+) curious about this topic, or seeking to process grief in a supportive, embodied way. No prior experience is needed—just a willingness to explore with openness and care.

Please wear comfortable clothing.
