Family performances

Kids take note!

You urgently need a break from your parents and want to play and have fun with like-minded people? Then you've come to the right place. While your parents visit a performance, you can play, do handicrafts, romp and chill.

Dear parents
On four Sundays during the season, we have already set the start of the performances to 4 pm. At the same time, we offer free childcare for kids between the ages of three and ten.

Please register in advance by e-mail at so that we have enough childcare staff on site.

We are happy to be able to offer childcare together with the neighborhood meeting point Kasernentreff and SpielEstrich.

Meeting point is half an hour before the performance at the box office of the Kaserne Basel.

Children's concert on Sun 24 September // 2pm

Bummelkasten's music videos are viewed thousands of times a day. The Berlin-based one-man band has firmly planted itself on German children's music shelves, captivating and uplifting children, parents and non-parents alike with the entirely mouth-made debut album Irgendwas Bestimmtes. This jolly pop-a-capella beatbox sound is unparalleled in the word of children's music. With charming lyrics and quirky humour, Bummelkasten leans far out of the box to explore new artistic territory, which you can now also discover for the first time at Kaserne Basel. After the concert, SpielEstrich invites you to come and play and have lots of fun at the Kaserne site. Snacks and refreshments will be available from Kaffi Hü next door.
