With Rosa Anschütz, Niklas Wandt, KOU, Kite, Pragajena and Special Guest Iulia-Andreea Smeu.

The days are getting shorter, the nights are getting colder. So it's time again for our extended ambient music listening session. In our Obscure Music special, we're dedicating ourselves this time to the weird and unheard edges of this musical cosmos with various live and DJ sets. Co-curated by Jonas Klingberg / Reach another System. Bring your mats and don't forget yourselves at home.

Kite

Iulia-Andreea Smeu *KITE (RO/CH) is a sound-based multidisciplinary artist based inBasel, Switzerland. Trained as a classical violinist in Bucharest (RO) and Bern (CH),changing direction into the field of freely improvised music and sound design mediated bymoving to Basel (CH) led to embracing an extended artistic practice. Within her currentwork, electroacoustic sound intertwines with spoken word and visual elements to createembodied experiences that facilitate self-reflection, while experimenting with the potentialof hybrid forms of expression and presentational formats.

«I am interested in narratives that touch on aspects of identity and relation <identification /self-fragmentation / alienation> in the context of fictional futures and distorted subjectiverealities, speculating based on psychological research, phenomenology, and sciencefiction, while bringing forth a poetic approach.»

KOU

KOU is the music project of Apolline Schöser and Thomas Coquelet, based in Lille/France.

  • Since 2020, they're exploring song compositions
  • making concrete music into lullabies
  • playing fluffy guitars with the strings of a rope walker
  • drowning jazz and non-jazz voices
  • humming flutes with purring synths
  • smoking piano stokes
  • steeling giallo's cries to make them dance in almostgroovy rhythms…

At a time of great deconstruction, one has the feeling ofwitnessing the birth of the music of a world after.
