The band from Dakar mixes Afrobeat, blues, funk, jazz, and reggae into a kaleidoscopic soundscape all their own. Frontman Sahad Sarr describes himself as a “bush taxi on an endless journey through the world, searching for the riches of our differences, collecting them, and sharing them through sound.” He blends these influences with his Senegalese heritage and celebrates his own culture with traditional rhythms and lyrics in Wolof, which shape the language and have earned him the admiration of the Dakar music scene.
Sahad and his band have been touring internationally for over a decade and are known for their innovative alternative Senegalese music. Sahad's passion for music and activism led him to found the record label Stereo Africa 432 and the Stereo Africa Festival in 2022, two platforms designed to support young artists and promote West African music. In this way, his own style continues to evolve.
