The FOG Collective is an association of international artists from the fields of experimental, electronic music and sound art based in Basel. One focus here is on the live moment, in which the concert format is conceived as a happening. The second edition of the FOG Festival will feature three productions at the Kaserne. It starts with the Swiss premiere of 100 Cymbals by Ryōji Ikeda. The Japanese artist, who is actually known for electronic music and large-format works from the field of digital art, dedicates this work, which was created in 2019, to the polyphonic potential of drum cymbals and explores the fine line between noise and harmonic resonances.
Alexandre Babel will conduct the Swiss Premiere of this piece with the Percussion Studio of Musik-Akademie Basel / FHNW.
