During a three-month residency, Nelson Schaub explores the themes of queerness, loneliness, fantasy, escapism and pessimism. In Perhaps existence is always an approximation, Nelson examines the interaction between self-perception and the perception of others, undermining conventional logic in the process. Nelson poetically circles the unknown, guided by the thought: “When every mask is made of skin, authenticity loses meaning.”
