Olufemi Sanyaolu, aka Keziah Jones, was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. Travelling between London and Paris and always accompanied by his guitar, Jones acquired a reputation as a charismatic performer with his unique «hard funk» style. In 1992, he released his debut album Blufunk Is A Fact!, including the first single and now classic song Rhythm Is Love, which eventually became a global hit. Keziah has cited Fela Kuti, Miles Davis and Jimi Hendrix as key musical influences. His now legendary sound, which is described as Blufunk, has developed over the years as an infusion of punk-funk attitude and Yoruba rhythms. The concert is in collaboration with Culturescapes, a multidisciplinary biennial arts festival.
