The “Grand Balthazar” music group brings all generations together and provides an easy introduction to circle, couple and row dances such as the chapelloise, waltz and mazurka. Everyone is invited to dance together, even if you have no previous experience.

A Bal Folk is an open celebration for everyone, accompanied by live music, where dances with traditional European roots are danced in a modern and entertaining way. Dare to try it out - all the steps are explained on the spot!

Grand Balthazar comes straight from French-speaking Switzerland and consists of three musicians who compose, arrange, rework and interpret melodies and rhythms - inspired by traditional European music, especially those that get the body moving and the head spinning.

Circles, waltzes, chapelloises, tarantellas, bourrées, avant-deux, scottishs, mixers, mazurkas, asymmetrical waltzes... All these traditional or more modern dances can be learned quickly and are passed on from bal to bal, from workshop to workshop. With their dynamism and creativity, Grand Balthazar takes these dances to a whole new dimension.

The Grand Balthazar trio is in a constant state of artistic creation and places itself entirely at the service of dance. Their love of improvisation and spontaneity makes them an original group in the world of (neo-)traditional music.
