COLD is the new well-tempered spoken word show by Fatima Moumouni & Laurin Buser. Politically heated moods, melting poles and social coldness - the second evening programme of the two also takes on socio-political topics and seeks a poetic and humorous approach to them.
After their successes as playwrights for the plays Bullestress and Ich chan es Zündhölzli azünde at Schauspielhaus Zurich, COLD is a return to joint stage performance, the discipline with which the two have been performing on various stages since 2015 and have won both the Swiss and the German-language poetry slam championships.
Q&A after the show on 8.12.
Fatima Moumouni is a spoken word poet, moderator and columnist living in Zurich. She has been performing on various stages in German-speaking countries since 2011. In addition to solo performances, she performs as a duo with Laurin Buser. The two were awarded the Salzburg Bull for their joint evening programme GOLD 2021. With the journalist Uğur Gültekin, she hosts Moumouni/Gültekin - the first post-foreign, post-migrant late night show in Switzerland. At the Gessnerallee in Zurich, Moumouni hosts her series of talks The New Insecurity. Disco Edition, a plea for more space for insecurity on public stages as a motor for more progressive discourses.
Laurin Buser is a slam poet, rapper, moderator and actor from Basel. Raised in a theatre family, he performed in a poetry slam for the first time at the age of 15 and has won several championship titles. Buser is regarded as an eccentric performer who tests the boundaries of genres. Buser has developed three full-length programmes to date (most recently GOLD with Fatima Moumouni), and in parallel he has taken part in several theatre productions, including at the Schauspielhaus Zurich. In Basel, he hosted the Slam Basel series for five years and curated the Augusta Raurica Slam for three seasons.
