“Otherness” is a central component of the expressive street dance style Krump, which originated in an African-American community in Los Angeles in the 2000s. Under the choreographic direction of Niki Anjes Stalder, the dancers explore their comfort zone and dance through personal questions, feelings and desires. What does it mean to swim against the current? Is it a weakness or a superpower? How does it feel to reinvent yourself? The Krump dancers gradually transform into everyday superheroes and enter into a powerful, captivating dialog with the audience through dance.
