Ana Pi's work operates at the interface of the visual and the living. In Haiti, she conducts a poetic-political research into the sacred gestures of the ancestors and their place in contemporary ideas. The performance enters into a fantastic dialog with the late experimental filmmaker Maya Deren, who explored Haitian culture, its dances and its Voudoun heritage since the 1940s.
