Al Beyt – “the house” in Arabic – is an association of young Syrians in exile and artist friends. The collective was founded in Paris in 2021 and brings with it a wealth of experience in migrant self-organization and critical perspectives on life in the diaspora. Since its founding, Al Beyt has organized events featuring discussions, concerts, film screenings, exhibitions, and communal meals—all without institutional funding, solely through its own cultural activities.

A house for self-organization in Damascus

Together, we want to create a new space for exchange, encounter, and solidarity—a house in Damascus that will become a center for culture and solidarity. It will host concerts, film screenings, and discussions, as well as music, artist residencies, and communal meals. A meeting place for initiatives that want to rebuild Syria after years of dictatorship.

In order to realize this project, we need a house, and to buy it, we need you. Come by and enjoy an evening of discussion and music with us!
