«UNTER UNS – Eine Reise in die Tiefen des Bodens»

Listening connects. Listening takes time. In «UNTER UNS», the audience explores, through deep listening, the hidden worlds of the ground as a living treasure in an experimental theatrical experience. The scenography consists of an inflatable shell that takes up the entire performance space, making the outside world disappear. Inside the shell, visitors encounter an expansive, sounding and shaking floor. As a giant musical instrument, it invites you to lie down and listen to it. Those who do are immersed in a dynamic resonance chamber of sounds and noises that can be freely associated with soil, ground or subsoil: with the rumbling depths and treasures of the earth, as well as the living surface on which countless creatures leave their traces each day.

Dimitri de Perrot uses sound as a central theatrical narrative device in his expansive productions. He understands hearing and sensing sound as a skill that must be practiced and cultivated again and again in order for it to unfold. His spatial and sound installations create spaces for reflection that allow us to think about the boundaries between the individual and community and the connection to a shared reality.

OPEN TABLE / MEET THE AUDIENCE

Biografie

Dimitri de Perrot uses sound as a theatrical narrative device and guides the audience towards deeper listening, based on the conviction that hearing and the ability to listen are an essential foundation for any form of coexistence and peaceful community. He is an internationally award-winning Swiss sound artist, musician, stage designer and director. He creates productions and sound installations for theaters, museums and public spaces, in which he subtly and poetically introduces the audience to listening to outer and inner worlds. He skillfully challenges the boundaries between individuals and manages to create a sense of collectivity while appealing to our own personal interpretations.
