In «visual-sound-check 2», Kaserne LAB artist Robin Michel presents another audiovisual study focused on the connection between sonic and visual materiality. Sound textures are analyzed using machine-learning algorithms to capture associative auditory qualities like soft, sharp, or dull sounds. These qualities are visually linked with surface scans of various materials. In the Showing, Robin Michel demonstrates how these materials break down into small particles that gradually transform alongside the sound textures, seamlessly merging into new materialities.
During the course of the Kaserne LAB there will be another show by resident artist Robin Michel, in which he will be exploring the use of a camera tracking system.
