Moor Mother is the sound project of American musician, activist and author Camae Ayewa. Drawing from diverse influences, including punk, rap, noise, jazz and the philosophical concepts of Afrofuturism, she explores racism and capitalist dystopias in her compositions. Her newest album The Great Bailout is a musical meditation that acts as a non-linear word map about colonialism, slavery and commerce in Great Britain and features contributions from renowned musicians such as Lonnie Holley and Angel Bat Dawid. Tonight's support act is Anton Ponomarev, an occasional member of Pussy Riot, delivering a noisy saxophone-infested sound.
