For over half a year, some thirty-five young people with immigrant backgrounds from three classes at the "Zentrum für Brückenangebote" Program in Basel have been dancing together. Now, under the direction of Jeanne Lehnherr and Melanie Afi Glover, the young people are bringing their dance piece to the stage of the Reithalle. In LINES, they explore the question of how experiences, thoughts, and feelings can be expressed through the body—where words often fail or fall short.  

At the heart of it all are lines: visible and invisible. Lines that mark boundaries, dictate paths, or open up possibilities. Is the horizon a line that says, “This far and no further”? Or is it an invitation to go further? In dance, these lines become tangible—as rules, expectations, or structures that shape our coexistence and are often taken for granted.  

What happens when we shift, redraw, or deliberately break these lines? What happens when movement emerges from entrenched patterns?
