Ever since his 2010 album Hurra! Hurra! So nicht, German singer and guitarist Gisbert zu Knyphausen has been a leading light of German-language songwriting. Influenced by bands such as Element of Crime or Ton Steine Scherben, his lyrics often carry a melancholic punch but are always infused with a glimmer of hope, a belief in fundamental goodness and a great deal of love and affection. In the Autumn, he will be back on the road and stopping off at Kaserne Basel to present his stories during a solo live performance.
