In recent years, there has been a notable surge in anti-feminist sentiment, manifesting itself in attacks against policies promoting gender equality, in approaches opposing the right to bodily autonomy and in resistance towards embracing gender, sexual and family diversity. The lecture takes a close look at anti-feminism and anti-gender attitudes and deals with counterstrategies.

Once a month, intellectual, provocative, political, funny, radical, critical of racism, affective and thoughtful evenings on queer_feminist topics are organised. The salon is a meeting point and gathering place for current questions and topics, often in connection with and always as an enrichment of the feminist programme at the Kaserne Basel. The series is curated by Katha Baur, Caroline Faust, Franca Schaad and Franziska Schutzbach.

Maiken Schiele is a research assistant and education officer at Dissens - Institut für Bildung und Forschung e.V. in Berlin and works for the joint project "Countering Antifeminism - Strengthening Democracy". She studied social sciences and sociology at Leibniz University in Hanover. Her main areas of study were gender studies with a special focus on feminist theories, gender and work as well as critical masculinity research.
Jana Haskamp is a freelancer at Dissens - Institut für Bildung und Forschung e.V. in Berlin and works independently as a sex educator, educational consultant and anti-discrimination trainer. She studied Gender Studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin and Applied Sexology at the Merseburg University of Applied Sciences. Her work focuses on lsbtiq+ lifestyles, gender, sexuality, discrimination and (queer) feminism.
