A short rave followed by a discussion with the Basel collective Avalon

Patriarchal spaces still dominate Swiss club and nightlife culture. The Basel collective Avalon has been setting a counterpoint with its Tender Raves since the beginning of 2024. In the Avalon apartment, visitors dance in socks on a soft surface from 7 pm to 10 pm. The space is designed to be considerate and attentive without neglecting the club setting. It is an attempt to create an alternative night culture that does not focus on excessive partying and consumption, but on connection and an inclusive, communal feeling of joy and physicality. In the event with the feminist salon, the women of the collective will talk about anti-patriarchal spatial design, the emancipatory potential of clubs and dancing (partying?) as a feminist practice.

The event consists of 60 minutes of rave and 30 minutes of talk.

Venue: Multi Soft Konstanz, BUILDING K-102, Klybeckstrasse 141, 4057 Basel
